Campus Cutie: Patrick Gallagher Landes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Conn Coll chapter.

Patrick Gallagher Landes was first spotted performing in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee as “William Barfé”- a nasally nerd with a touchy personality and peanut allergy. Contrary to his role in the musical though, this week’s campus cutie is down to earth, musically-inclined and has a great sense of humour. Let’s see what this cute (and single!) freshman has to say…

Hometown: Harrisonburg, VA
Year: 2016
Dorm: Larrabee
Relationship Status: Single

What are you most Involved in at Conn? For the past few months it’s been theater, but I hope to get more involved with activism (like 1 in 4), music, and Ultimate Frisbee.

People were really impressed with your performance in the spelling bee. How did you get into acting? I don’t remember “getting into” acting, it’s just something that’s always been there for me. I’ve been doing it for as long as I can remember. My parents tell me that they knew I was an actor when we would make funny faces at each other in the bathroom mirror when I was little.

Favorite movie, book, and musical artist? SLC Punk, Siddhartha by Herman Hesse, and this one changes a lot, but at the moment, it’s a band called Yes.

Describe yourself in three words: Musical, compassionate, relaxed.

What is your most embarrassing moment? Oh geez… Well since you asked, here it is: It was probably at camp when we sitting around the fire and I was not really listening to the guest speaker. Instead, I was thinking about how badly I had to fart. So the speaker went on, and on, and on, and at just the right moment, when there was a short break in her speech, I ripped a loud and long one. The place erupted with laughter.

What is your favorite class so far? Probably my Intro to Sociology class. The professor is charismatic and the work is interesting.

What is your dream job? The elusive well paying part-time actor, part-time musician, part time counselor job.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? I really want to go back to the area in Switzerland where I went to boarding school. Lugano is the perfect mix of mountainous and aquatic scenery and Mediterranean climate.

What qualities do you value most in a girl? Kindness, compassion, a nice smile, and the willingness to give me random back massages (my favorite things ever!)

Turn off/deal breaker: Rudeness.

Pet Peeve: People standing in doorways.

Motto: “You can dance if you want to, you can leave your friends behind.”

How do you feel about being this week’s Campus Cutie? I’m really flattered and surprised. I usually fly under the radar for these types of things.
