Meet this week’s Campus Celeb: Cara Hass. A senior, Cara has definitely taken advantage of the opportunities that are available at Conn. She studied abroad in Copenhagen last semester, completed her CELS internship at the Children’s Hospital in Boston, and continues to demonstrate her dedication to the sciences. This semester, Cara is a admissions fellow where she interviews potential admitted students. Known around campus for her shining personality, Cara is definitely celeb status.Â

Favorite science class at Conn?
Cells my freshman year. It was the first science class I took at Conn and solidified my desire to major in the subject.  Not only did I have a great professor, but the experience in the lab  was unlike anything I had completed before.
Â
You studied in Copenhagen. What was the best part of your experience?
Hands down my host family.  I was able to live in a small town outside the city with the most wonderful Danish family. It allowed me to become completely immersed in the culture and create long lasting relationships. They took me in as a daughter for four months and were the most generous people I have ever met.Â
Â
Hidden gem of Copenhagen?
Khulor bar!!! Nothing like dancing with Danes all night to really experience the Danish culture…and the people ;)Â
Â
You worked at Children’s Hospital this summer– most valuable part of the experience?
The ability to shadow the doctors and nurses in the cardiology department. Â I was able to participate in the rounds and see a variety of children with congenital heart diseases. The doctors were so willing to take me in and teach me all about the diseases, treatments, and medical terminology that I had never been exposed to before. I learned more about cardiology in two months then I had in all of my years of taking science classes.Â
Â
Favorite TV show?
Guilty pleasure-trashy MTV reality shows. Â Therefore, I’ll admit that Real World is up there for favorite TV show. Although, a close second is Grey’s Anatomy.
Â
Favorite spot on campus?
The view from the Admissions office across the green and looking face on at Harkness chapel. It is by far my favorite site on campus and that view never gets old for me.Â
Â
What will you miss most about Conn?
My friends. I love being in an environment where I am constantly surrounded by the people I care about. There are so many other aspects of Conn I will miss, but next year I know I’ll be so nostalgic for my Conn friends.
Â
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
My goal is to become a Physicians Assistant, so in 10 years hopefully I will be a PA at a hospital in a city somewhere. I am not sure in what department or what city but that will figure itself out eventually. Of course, a family is part of that vision as well!
