Campus Celeb: Rachel Maddox

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Conn Coll chapter.

Meet this week’s Campus Celebrity Rachel Maddox. You might recognize her from her amazing job in As Told By Vaginas this week, or maybe you’ve seen her running around doing random tasks for the theater department. When she isn’t doing those things, you can find Rachel volunteering for OVCS’s or catching up on her favorite Sex and The City episodes. Read more to hear about her last embarrassing moment and her favorite places on campus!

Class Year: 2016

Hometown: Princeton, NJ

Major: Theater

Minor: Education certificate

Extracurricular activities: REAL staff (floor governor), volunteer for OVCS, director for As Told By Vaginas, occasional performer, sometimes writer, most often random task doer for the theater department and Wig and Candle

Favorite TV Show/Movie: The Golden Girls

Favorite Spot on Campus: The Arboretum (when it’s warm) and my bed (when it’s cold)

Favorite Food: Pizza. And French Fries. Preferably both.

Last Embarrassing Moment: I was working with a student in the kindergarten class where I volunteer and he at one point asked me why my hands were so wet. My palms are almost always sweaty, and I’m so self conscious about it and generally try to avoid any hand touching, so I panicked and decided to ask this random five year old why his hands were wet. He was confused.

Guilty Pleasure: Sex and the City

Party Anthem: “Dig It” (the theme song from Holes, YouTube it)

Personal Motto: I like to chill and have a good time

Role Model: My parents

Favorite Candy: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

Best Coffee On Campus: Tea is where it’s at

Last Played On Your iTunes: “Sugar” by Maroon 5 (so catchy amirite?)

Favorite Color: Green

Favorite Book: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

Pet Peeve: Being interrupted while speaking

Most Used Word: Literally

Celeb Crush: Drew Barrymore

How do you feel about being Campus Celebrity?

Honestly, I’m so excited. I have (not so) secretly always wanted to be Campus Celebrity, so this definitely makes me feel like a winner.
