Now that spring is (hopefully) here, it’s time to say good bye to chapped lips, runny noses, and bright red cheeks. Unfortunately, spring brings oily faces, greasy hair, and sunburned skin. Here are some top makeup essentials to help you ‘spring’ into the start of the season!

1. Dry Shampoo

Do you suffer from greasy hair? Is your schedule so packed that you put off showering for a day? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then this product will be your savior. Your hair will instantly feel lighter and smell good at the same time.

How to Use: Lift up a section of hair and spray close the roots. Use your fingers and run them through your hair to distribute the product. Repeat with as many sections as you feel necessary.

2. Decent Lip Balm

Every girl enjoys their lips to feel soft, smooth and refreshed.  A good lip balm can restore any wintertime cracked lips, and most importantly get you all prepared for those summer close up photo shoots.

Some good brands to try: ChapStick (pictured above), EOS, Aquaphor

3. Blotting Sheets

I know this product seems like a waste of money. Who wants to spend $3.00 on some thin paper? But believe me, blotting sheets are a perfect quick-fix for anyone with oily skin.  Blotting sheets work wonders for removing that mid-day shine

How to Use: Take a sheet and press onto face. The paper will turn a darker blue, signaling that it is absorbing the oil.

4. Moisturizer with SPF

Moisturizer with SPF is essential for spring. Even though the weather isn’t extremely hot, you can still get burned on a cloudy day.  This product not only moisturizes your skin but protects it from harmful UV rays.

5. Mascara

Out of all makeup products, mascara is my absolute favorite. Just a small coat lifts your lashes and makes you look wide awake. When I apply mascara, I like to wiggle the wand to prevent clumping.

Some good brands to try: Maybeline, Loreal, Benefit (if you’re willing to spend a bit more)
