The top 5 “Insta-worthy” things to do this october

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Concordia CA chapter.

October is full of great eats, costumes, cute clothes and perfect weather, it’s the best month for stepping up your Instagram game. Here is a list of the most “insta-worthy” thing for you to do this month!

1. Bake with Your Mom

Going home for Thanksgiving? Take advantage of apple season and make your mom’s day by offering to bake a homemade apple pie with her! It’ll be a great bonding experience (and you might even learn something)! Snap a cute picture of the finished product to brag to your friends!

2. Go to a Corn Maze

Up for a fall road trip?  Hathaway Farms in Vermont is only a three hour drive from Montreal and is perfect for a day trip this Thanksgiving long weekend! Hathaway Farms  was ranked the second best corn maze in the United States by Kidventurous! Snap a selfie getting lost in their 12 acre maze, or get your bestie to pose for a picture with  you in the pumpkin patch! This day trip is guaranteed to leave you with throw backs to post all winter long.

3. Hike Mount Royal

Grab your best friends and your selfie stick and head up to Mount Royal for a day! October is the perfect month for hiking: not too cold but still chilly enough for you to wear that cute flannel and vest you’ve been saving all summer. The view from the top is even better with all the leaves changing. You can even pack a picnic lunch full of fall treats like hot apple cider, donuts, apples and pumpkin spice anything!

4. Check out Rocky Horror

Nothing says Halloween like Rocky Horror. This cult classic is coming to Montreal this October 27, 28 and 31 to give Montrealers the experience of a lifetime. Dress up as your favourite character or however you want. The crazier the better, and don’t forget your props, newspaper, rice, toast and a water gun! Make sure to get a pic of you and your friends going all-out this Halloween!

5. Go to La Ronde

Quebec isn’t big on fairs, but you can still get the carnival experience at La Ronde this October! Snap a pic on the Ferris wheel or hit up the food trucks for some sweet treats to feature on your Instagram. For the full Halloween experience, head over on October 31 for Fright Fest (https://www.laronde.com/larondeen/special-events/fright-fest-night), the biggest Halloween party in Montreal. Costumes are recommended. Dress to impress (and by impress I mean terrify)  and try to win one of their prizes for best costume!
