Internally crying and stressing about getting all your assignments completed before the end of the semester? Having a bad week? Feeling not so great about yourself?
Itâs crazy how music can change our moods, I like to start my mornings with fun music thatâs not too loud (because it reminds me of my mother yelling at me to get up). But music that has good lyrics and thatâs catchy. When I take baths, I listen to soft classical music; when I feel moody, I blast alternative. Every genre is like a different mood!
On NPR, Elena Mannes, author of âThe Power of Musicâ, says âscientists have found that music stimulates more parts of the brain than any other human function.â
Here is a list of songs I put together that hopefully pulls you out of whatever slump youâre in no matter what genre you listen toâŠ
1. Â Â Â Under Pressure â David Bowie, Queen
This song is a throwback and you canât help but smile and sing along
2. Â Â Â Sorry Not Sorry – Demi Lovato
Pop music but its motivating and makes you feel confident before you go out!
3. Â Â Â Hymn for the Weekend â Coldplay
Because who doesnât like Coldplay?
4. Â Â Â Stronger â Kanye West
I love this song because of how cocky Kanye is and when you need to feel on top of the world you should listen to Kanye.
5. Â Â Â Green Light â Lorde
Because this song made me dance all around my apartment and jump on my bed like a 12-year-old lol so I figured it might make you do that too.
6. Â Â Â Formation â Beyonce
No comment necessary.
7. Â Â Â Cockiness (Love it) â Rihanna
Right down there with Kanye, the cockiness queen.
8. Â Â Â Ride or Die â The Knocks, Foster the People
For when youâre low key, but want to be happy.
9. Â Â Â Raise Hell â Dorothy
Itâll make you want to tear shit apart.
10. Â Hey Ya! â Outkast
Itâll make you shake it like a polaroid picture.
