“Pinning” is the new “tweeting”. Well, maybe. The newest craze to hit the web in social media, “Pinterest”, is quickly gaining popularity and is on its way to Twitter or Facebook status.

On the site, which you can only join by invitation (ooh, exclusive) is basically a compilation of images that the user can upload (“pin”) and either “repin” another user’s images or have theirs “repinned” by others. If you’re familiar with Tumblr, then you are familiar with this concept of “reblogging” or reposting content.

So basically the website is a huge pinboard of your interests which can be organized into categories. From weddings to coffee shops to fashion trends–you can “pin” it to your board.

There’s still a lot we’re learning about the site, but you can check it out yourself now here. Get ahead of the curve and catch onto the trend before it becomes played out like nearly every other social media site out there!
