Yes, yes, and yes.  My new favorite album and artist, Summer Walker’s “Over It,” is finally out and the wait has been too long. She has features  with 6Lack, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Jhene Aiko, Usher, Drake and Bryson Tiller.

“I’ll Kill You” feat. Jhené Aiko

“I been waiting so long for a love like this, it’s a feeling so strong, I don’t wanna resist.” Every girl dreams of having that perfect man and once we get him we do not play! I know I always have the issue of thinking I’m facing an issue alone in my life and when artists can put what I’m feeling into a song it makes everything ten times better!  I love that Jhene and Summer can express their feelings into words in this song. These are real women who’ve had their past relationships and know what that perfect love feels like and what it doesn’t. That’s something I get a lot from both of their music, and all of Summer’s album.

“Playing Games” feat. Bryson Tiller

If you’re like me and love Bryson Tiller you’ll love the song “Playing Games” Summer remixed “Say  My Name” by Destiny’s Child for this track. Summer really just feels like she’s not being treated like “his girl” anymore. No one is calling her baby and she’s letting him know straight up how she’s feeling. Bryson comes in towards the end of the song with reassuring lyrics, “wanna get him out of the picture, yeah I made it my mission, yeah and despite the difference, yeah, me, I’m never actin’ shady you will always be my baby.”

“Girls Need Love” feat. Drake

“You just need some, someone that’s calm and patient, submission, domination arched back, deep stroke white wine, weed smoke.” Everytime I hear these lyrics I get goosebumps. It’s just that Drake understands!! GIRLS NEED LOVE TOO! He hit these lyrics right on the head. He knows what a woman wants. Drake came through for Summer on this song. He also is a fan of hers. Summer posted a screenshot of her and Drake’s messages and he tells her how much he loves the album. She responded with, “Thanks, lol.”

I’m looking forward to seeing what Summer Walker has in store for future tracks. I’m thinking maybe a track with her and Brent Faiyaz.
