Did You Know? Notable, Former Students of Columbia Part Two

Columbia College Chicago is known as the largest arts and media school in the United States with more than 12,500 students and 120 undergraduate and graduate programs. Some pretty famous people have stopped by Columbia throughout the years and either attended the college for a short amount of time or graduated and received their degree. Nonetheless, Columbia served as a wonderful stepping stone for these celebs and paved the way for their careers. No matter where these people may be in their lives and careers, they will forever be known and recognized as Columbia College Chicago alumni. Here are just a few more of the well-known former students of Columbia!

Aidan Quinn: (1979) Actor most known for his role in “The Last Temptation of Christ.”

Erica Hubbard: (1999) Actress on “Lincoln Heights.”

David-Matthew Barnes: (Attended briefly) Novelist, playwright, poet and filmmaker.

Len Amato: (1975) President of HBO Films.

David Cromer: (Attended briefly) Award-winning director of the musical “Adding Machine.”

Monalisa Brown: (Attended briefly) Well-known as “Shy” from VH1’s reality show “Flavor of Love” season three and is now an aspiring actress and musician and doing shows on Broadway.

Anita Padilla: (1991) Reporter for FOX Chicago.

Hetti Barnhill: (2006) Dancer for the Broadway production of “Fela!” in 2009.

Bryan Basil: (Currently attending) Film actor.

Jackson is a senior magazine journalism major at Columbia College Chicago, class of 2011. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Jackson transferred to Columbia during his sophomore year and considers Chicago to be second home. In addition to being a Campus Correspondent for Her Campus Columbia, Jackson also works as the copy chief for The Columbia Chronicle, Columbia's student-run newspaper, and at Echo, Columbia's student-run magazine, as the fact checking/copy chief and online editor. Jackson especially loves writing about the LGBTQ community and hopes to make it one of his specialities sometime in the future. While being a big believer in karma, Jackson always tries to surround himself with positive energy and positive people. A few of Jackson's favorite things: RuPaul's Drag Race, Family Guy, lemon-flavored Arizona iced tea and Chipotle.
