If you’ve walked into any lecture hall this semester, you’ve probably noticed half the girls (and some performative males) clutching a gorgeous green colored bevvy. Matcha has fully taken over campus and honestly, my own heart. And as your self appointed Matcha expert, I took it upon myself to recommend some of my favourite Matcha spots near campus.

If you haven’t been to heytea yet, fix that immediately. We’re not talking about your average matcha latte, we’re talking mochi, jelly and their cheese cold foam on top of your ceremonial grade latte.

- Blank Street Coffee:
I fear I might have cheated on this one. Located on 91st and Broadway, it’s close to a 30 min walk or 10 mins by subway. But can you blame me? Blank Street is at the top of the matcha scene right now with innovative flavours like Lemon Loaf and Blondie matchas.

- Blue Bottle Coffee:
This one’s classic and straightforward. Perfect when you want true ceremonial grade matcha sourced directly from Japan. No flavoured syrups, just creamy nutty matcha.

- Pret A Manger:
If you have a Pret subscription, you already know a matcha latte’s practically free every morning. Is it the most authentic, high quality latte you’ll have? Nope but can you really blame a girl for loving a milk forward option loaded with a million syrups?
