With exactly 14 days of real classes left until reading week, the semester is winding down. It feels like midterms have never ended with all the problem sets and papers and readings you have due, yet there are only 2 MORE WEEKS of classes! We have almost done it! We have almost survived the year!
Â
I cannot believe it is the end of my first year of college. This year has been exhilarating, exhausting, and absolutely crazy; it is going to take me a while to reflect on all that has happened and all the many ways I have changed. But until then, here are ten recurring thoughts I have had regarding the next couple of weeks.
Â
-
I have so much to do. I can’t fit in all in my planner. There’s not enough time!!!
Â
There is never enough time or colored pens to separate the items on my to-do list. My planner is an absolute battle zone, R.I.P.
Â
2. Everyone is sick. I cannot get sick. PLEASE don’t cough on me!
I ran from anyone who sneezed. I stayed the recommended three feet away from the cough-ers and, alas, here I am in bed writing this article to you all. Buy Lysol in bulk.
Â
3. What am I doing this summer??? Everyone is interning or volunteering or researching…
All I want to do is walk my dog and sit on a beach, but here I am on Nacelink…
Â
4. Where is the spring weather?? Why did the groundhog lie to me??
I made the very freshman mistake of sending my heavy winter coats home and have regretted it on multiple occasions. 60 degree weather, where art thou?
Â
5. I want to go HOME!
I think this whole college thing has gone on a bit too long. I need my dog and my own bed.
Â
6. What classes am I supposed to take….?
Well, I need to take Chemistry for pre-med. Ooo, Anthro would be nice for a change. Dance? Maybe I should dance. Hold on…am I adding any real classes to my schedule?
Â
7. WAIT…DID I EAT DINNER?!
Cue me running to Ferris. Yes, I am Wonder Woman only for food.
Â
8. At least housing is over.
We don’t need to talk about it anymore...ever. Again. (Or until next year. Whatever.)
Â
9. The PROSPIES are here!
Wow, they asked me a question! I led them to Milbank and didn’t get them lost! I am the wise all-knowing first-year! Success! I should become a BSAR!
Â
10. I GOT THIS!
If the prospies believe in me and my mother believes in me, I CAN DO THIS. YOU CAN TOO.
