Emily Hollender: You May Have Seen Her on the Big Screen

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Columbia Barnard chapter.

Name: Emily Hollender

Hometown: Newton, Massachusetts

School/Year: BC ’16

Major: I’m an economics and history double major and a dance minor.

Relationship? The single life chose me.

Tell us a little bit about what you do on campus? Besides going to Dig Inn on the daily, I do some important recruitment stuff for Columbia Panhellenic Council and am a member of Sigma Delta Tau. I’m also in a few dance groups (come to the MaMa Project on Feb 26, 27, 28 in the Lerner Blackbox!!!).

Favorite college memory? The things I don’t remember…

Best brunch spot in the city? Popover Cafe (RIP)

Trend you can’t wait to see go out of style? Uggs — they bring back bad 6th grade memories.

Netflix or Hulu? Netflix, hands down

Favorite 90s boy band? NSYNC

Thoughts on reality TV? Not a fan

One thing you don’t understand about the opposite sex? The texting game

Fun fact about yourself? I was an extra in the movie Fever Pitch (no autographs, please). I’m also really really good at whistling (considering starting a whistling acapella group– hmu if interested).

Guilty pleasures? Eating (multiple) cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery, binge watching Friday Night Lights, and splurging on workout clothes.

Best part about living in NYC? 24-hour supermarkets, unlimited workout classes, and endless Instagram opportunities.

What pick up line will get your attention? Anything you say to me I’ll probably just laugh.
