2020 has robbed us of many things: seniors have lost graduations, grandchildren have missed their grandparents, and we have all been starved due to a lack of human interaction. However, Halloween will not be robbed from us. Trick or treating may be canceled, but costumes will not be!

Dress up! Whether it be for a Zoom costume party with your friends or a small get together with your quarantine circle, you have to make the most of these difficult times. You can even get together in an outside space with masks and have a socially distanced gathering. That is where these costumes come into play!

Below are six costume ideas that are elevated with the use of a mask! No matter what you choose to do on Halloween, make sure you are being safe, especially in terms of COVID-19.

Ninja

Wear skin-tight black clothes and a black mask! Add some throwing stars if you are feeling adventurous.

The Incredibles

Black leggings and an Incredibles shirt are all you need for this costume! Find a black eye mask and a black face mask to complete the look stylishly and safely.

Doctor

Complete with scrubs, a disposable mask, and gloves, you will look like a real doctor! Add some splatters of fake blood to add some mystery to your character.

Cheetah

A cheetah print mask and cheetah print clothing can complete this look! Whether you like pants or a skirt, you can make this costume your own.

Skeleton

A skeleton look and a skeleton mask will make you look like you just crawled out of your grave!

Mummy

No matter how much you decide to wrap yourself in cloth, you can definitely wrap it around your mouth! No germs will escape from or enter your six-feet bubble!

A kind-hearted citizen

In order to stop this pandemic, we must all wear masks! Show off how much you care about your community by always wearing a mask when you leave your home and on Halloween.

Columbia Barnard '24

Hi! My name is Bella Druckman, and I am a freshman at Barnard majoring in English and Human Rights. I’m from Chicago, but love the big city of New York. I love to bake - especially cookies - and share those goodies with my friends. When I’m not taking photos, or crafting, you can find me fighting for social justice or spreading my kindness through the world.
