Although we still may be walking campus in our winter coats, spring is upon us. Keeping up with the trends can be hard, but having those few, versatile statement pieces can ultimately enhance your wardrobe. Here are four pieces you must add to your wardrobe this season.

1. A Jean Skirt

On campus, I have seen such a wide variety of patterned skirts. However, if you don’t own a cute skirt yet, I recommend starting with a jean skirt. This item can be worn so many times and be styled in so many ways. You can wear it with a sweater, a t-shirt, sneakers, booties, tights, or bare legs. I bought this jean skirt two years ago at H&M, and I am pretty sure I over wear it, if that even is a thing.

2. A Statement Jacket

In New York City, springtime can still be chilly. Finding a nice outerwear piece to wear is an extremely crucial part of revamping your spring wardrobe. Whether it be the trendy teddy bear jacket or a regular old black leather jacket, I recommend finding a jacket that makes you feel most confident. I own an olive green fake leather jacket from Zara, and I receive compliments on it all the time. I find that this jacket can bring together any outfit, and I cannot wait to turn in my winter coat for this one.

3. A Nice Pair of Jeans

Mom jeans, boyfriend jeans, flared jeans, you name the style of jeans and it’s probably currently on trend. With this in mind, though, I recommend not shopping online from the comfort of your bed, but instead, venturing out into an actual store. Although trying on lots of pairs of jeans can be upsetting when certain sizes do not fit, it’s imperative that you take the time to try on lots of styles and sizes in jeans to makes sure you find the best pair of jeans that flatter your body type the best. After all, you will feel more inclined to wear a pair of jeans that make you feel confident.

4. An off the shoulder top

When I first purchased an off the shoulder top, I bought it more so because it was a trend. However, I find the style extremely flattering and elegant, and therefore, I recommend this style of tops if you do not just want to be seen in striped t-shirts all the time. The few off the shoulder tops I own are from Brandy Melville. This style is perfect for spring since you can find a long sleeve off the shoulder top for a cooler day or a short sleeve off the shoulder top for a warm day. If you buy these tops in solid colors, they can be styled in so many different ways and for many different occasions.
