8 Snacks You Can Make In Your Dorm

We’ve all been there. It’s another late night and you suddenly feel hungry, but don’t want to trudge across campus to eat mediocre dining hall food. I’ve put together a list of eight snacks to keep in your dorm room for when the cravings hit!

Salty Foods

  1. Microwaveable Popcorn

It’s a classic for a reason! All it takes is a few minutes to get a warm bag of popcorn to accompany your studying (or movie watching). My favorite brand is Skinny Pop.

  1. Spicy Chips

As someone who usually doesn’t like my food too spicy, I’ve found myself craving spicy tortilla chips for a late night kick. The Chili and Lime Flavored Rolled Tortilla Chips from Trader Joe’s are the perfect blend of spicy, salty and sour.

  1. Ritz Crackers

These sound boring and simple, but sometimes you just want something plain to satisfy your hunger. I like how Ritz Crackers come packaged in sleeves, so I can slip one into my backpack when I have leftovers!

Sweet Foods

  1. Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Be careful – these can get super addictive! I love the blend of chocolate and crunch that these pretzels provide, and they satisfy my cravings for sweets without leaving me with too much of a stomach ache! The Mini Dark Chocolate Pretzels from Trader Joe’s are my favorite to munch.

  1. Stroopwafels

This may be an obscure snack, but it’s one I was so happy I thought of buying! The caramel-filled waffle cookie is sweet and chewy, and the best part is that they’re each so decadent that I usually just eat one at a time. More Stroopwafels for later!

  1. Granola

Granola provides the perfect blend between sweet and crunchy, and can be put on other foods like yogurt or eaten straight from the bag! This is another one of those food options that fills me up but doesn’t make me feel yucky. The Cinnamon Roll Drizzled Granola from Trader Joe’s is divine.

Miscellaneous

  1. Peanut Butter

If you’re not allergic, peanut butter is such a versatile and filling snack to keep in your snack bin! You can spread it on fruit or a tortilla, or just eat a couple spoonfuls to get your protein in and fill you up!

  1. Ice Pops

My best friend always keeps flavored ice pops in her freezer, and they always hit hard after a long hour of studying or working out. It’s really nice to have something cool and sweet to reset! These ice pops remind me of elementary school, but are so good!
