You must remember the movie “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” in which Kate Hudson writes a column featuring her “How to” scenarios. So, this year at Her Campus Colby we’re going to dedicate our blog to our own “How to” situations! This week we’re going to look at wallet friendly ways to expand your closet!
The first thing to do is find a style that fits you well. Unfortunately, there are not many store near Colby to go shopping at, so I, like many of you probably, resort to online purchases. Once you know what fits, it’s easy! No need to spend a lot on clothes. Here are some stores that offer cute, versatile pieces at good prices.
1. Zara- Just recently Zara debuted their online shopping to the United States. Here you can find pieces that can double as school and party clothes. Look for a cute neutral color (black, brown, or tan) that can be paired with boots and stud earrings during the day and a waist synching belt, hoops, and heels at night.
Dress $69.90
2. Topshop- Another foreign designer, Topshop, excels at flouncy tops, unique skirts, and eye-catching jewelry. Try an a-symmetrical skirt with a blouse and loafers for school or wear the skirt with a crop top and dangling earrings on Friday night. Maybe you’re looking for tops? Try a sheer crop top that can be worn with high waisted jeans during the day and a bandage skirt at night. Just remember, the sizes are not the same so make sure to check out the size guide!
Ring $39.50
3. Aqua- Carried at Bloomingdales, this brand offers cute embellished tops without the high price tag like Bloomingdales’ other designers. Besides the silk blouses with lace or cut-outs, try the flirty dresses for a night out.

4. ModCloth- If you like vintage feel style, site is for you. The vast array of romantic blouses, patterned skirts, and t-strap heels you’ll love. While you’re there make sure to check out the jewelry and other accessories, if the designs don’t make your jaw drop, the prices certainly will!
