HC Colby Profile: Meet Margaret Chandler

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Colby chapter.

Margaret is one of our social media heads here at HC Colby!

What is your favorite…

Dining hall? Foss, always.

Place at Colby? Probably the reading room in Miller. I always go during the day to do work and I just love the light from all the windows. It always makes doing homework a little bit more bearable.

Thing to do at Colby? When it’s warm I love going to the Hume Center to swim or just hang out by the water.

Movie? Ooh, that’s tricky. It probably comes down to Call Me by Your Name and either Madagascar 1 or 2.

Song? “Harvest Moon” by Neil Young.

Thing to do off-campus? I love trying new restaurants whether they’re in Waterville or somewhere far away.

What is your dream job? Probably to be a world-renowned interior designer, but more realistically I’d love to work for the Peace Corps after college.

What is your best Colby memory? I’m not sure I have one favorite, but really anytime it’s warm on campus. Going to school in Maine makes you appreciate the nice, warm, sunny days and I love seeing everyone sitting and eating or doing work outside on those days.

Fun Fact! I lived in Singapore for eight years!

The official account of Her Campus at Colby!
Sydney is a senior at Colby originally from Wilmette, Illinois. She is a German Studies and English double major with a concentration in creative writing. On campus, Sydney is a COOT leader, member of Colby Dance Company, barista in the Mary Low Coffee House, a language assistant, and president of Colby's chapter of HC. When she isn't working, dancing, or writing, you can probably find her laughing at her own jokes or talking about the Midwest.
