Today made it clear that spring is on the way (although the weather forecast for tomorrow may make you think otherwise). So it’s time to be reminded about the Do’s and Don’ts of fitness during the spring weather!

Do: Try campus golf. Throw on your preppiest J.Crew polo and pair of Lily Pullitzer pants and practice your swing with your favorite iron. This is a great way to take advantage of the warm weather and still get exercise (no golf carts available)!

Don’t: Sit inside watching movies. If it’s sunny, get outside! Save the lazy lounging for that rainy day (they do come), and go enjoy the outdoors.

Do: Explore Maine’s wilderness. Looking to get off campus for a bit? Take a trip to one of these hiking trails  to get some exercise and appreciate nature.

Don’t: Go anywhere alone. You might think it would be relaxing to go hiking alone to clear your head, or a long run through an unusual place, but stop! If you’re not familiar with a certain area bring a buddy.

Do: Take your work outside. Whether it is your homework, or workout take it outside if it’s nice!

Don’t: Forget to exercise. While nice weather may influence you to lounge outside on that picnic blanket, don’t forget to workout and stay healthy!

Do: Take advantage of the beautiful weather.

Don’t: Get discouraged by crappy weather.

New England weather is unpredictable so try to be flexible with your plans. The weather forecasts are usually uncertain and while this may put a damper on your scheduled bike trip, remember that tomorrow is another day and there are plenty of fair weather days before us!
