I’ve always believed that glasses can make or break a look. That’s probably why I spend an absurd amount of time when it comes to choosing my newest pair of specs. I usually go through a dozen pairs before debating between two for the next half an hour.

As much as the look of my glasses is important, I also care about durability and comfort because I’m always wearing my glasses with the exception of showering, brushing my teeth and sleeping. My previous pair were Ray Bans made of B-Memory metal, which was great because the material was really light.

It’s been more than three years since I switched my glasses. The idea of getting new glasses loomed in my head. However, it wasn’t until I noticed  I was straining my neck and poking my head into my neighbors space to see the graphs on the board that I realized I could no longer see the board in my math class. I knew for sure that my Ray Bans had to go.

Without a gar or the ability to drive, I knew my options in the periphery were sparse. Luckily, Instagram heard my struggles, and one of the ads I saw while flipping through my Insta stories was for a glasses website, EyeBuyDirect. A quick google search also lead me to at least a dozen other sites. However, I decided to commit to EyeBuyDirect because they provide shoppers with the ability to do a “virtual glasses try-on” where shoppers can see how they look with their chosen pair of glasses from different angles. The site is also super easy to navigate, and I was able to filter my glasses search by small, medium or large size.

Additionally, there are always deals and promotions on the site. I knew it was time to make my purchase when I saw the site was having a buy one get one free and 15% off frames deal with the code “Bogo”. In general, shoppers can usually expect 20% to 30% off their chosen frames, which is great.

It took a bit more than a week for my classes to arrive. The packaging was two white boxes taped securely together. My glasses were in pouches in a pull out box that functioned as both a pouch and cleansing wipe.

The first glasses I opened up was the Notting Hill pair. I chose the Cat Eye Ivory Turtoise color. I was pleased with how I looked. For the Notting Hill glasses, shoppers can choose between a size small or medium frame. I chose a size small frame.

My second pair was the Morning pair. The style I chose was the round clear and white eyeglasses. These frames are a size medium.  I was super pleased with how this pair looked on my face, which was surprising because I had planned for them to be my backup pair.

The fit was stiff and tight at first especially by the temple tips. However, as I went on with wearing both glasses, the discomfort faded away.

Although it might be safer to buy glasses at an actual optical store, it’s definitely worth a try to buy online if the options around town aren’t plentiful. Definitely browse through the reviews, which often include pictures of other people wearing the glasses. The next time I buy new glasses I will definitely be buying from EyeBuyDirect.
