Welsh singer-songwriter has captivated fans worldwide, with 1.9 million followers on Instagram and 2.6 million on Twitter. Selling over 715,000 albums worldwide, there is clearly something special about her.

Previously known as Marina and the Diamonds up until 2019, Marina decided that the name itself was promoting a different identity from herself. Experiencing growth throughout her years as an artist, Marina decided she would embrace that her stage life is a part of her everyday self, instead of trying to separate the two.

She was first noticed on a wide scale in 2010 after being second in BBC’s Sound of 2010, and she has since skyrocketed to reach No.2 on the Billboards Top Dance/Electronic Albums chat with her album “Electra Heart”.

Diagnosed with the neurological phenomenon synesthesia, Marina sees musical notes, and even days of the week, as different colors.

Marina has joined Panic at the Disco’s “Viva Las Vengeance” tour this year for the duration of the North American tour. It was there that I experienced her perform live for the first time, and captivated would have been an understatement.

Her music is like a mix of psychedelic indie crossed with a Brittany Spears-esque pop, and hearing it live was a truly magnificent experience.

Along with the amazing vocals, I did note her outfit choice for the concert as well. Marina has said in interviews that she admires Gwen Stefani and pop icon Madonna, and it shows in her style choices.

Listed below are some of the must-listens for Marina Diamandis. If she hasn’t already become your favorite artist, check these songs out!
