It’s spooky season which means that all things scary start pouring out of the woodwork! If you’re like me, then scary stories and movies are not your thing. However, ever since I was a young teen, I have loved reading fake scary stories on websites that have been the source of fanfiction and creepy pasta. Here is a list of fun websites as well as a few fun stories that give readers the spooky feeling as well as the comfort in knowing they are fiction.

  1. Creepy Pasta

          – Creepypasta.com is a website that fuels the horror genre but also provides many works that are fit for people that just want a little thrill. The website provides many original stories about horror and the make believe. One cool aspect is that it gives you categories as well as it gives you average reading times that allow you to pick between quick reads and novels length reads.

     a.  Jeff the Killer

          – Ah, Jeff the Killer was one of the first creepy pasta’s that I had read. I was terrified that it had been a real story. Then I realized that there was no way it could be true, mainly because there were several different versions of the same story. It took me many years to realize it, but this is one of the best creepy pasta’s out there.

     b. The Murphy Horror House

          – Another fictional piece about a young girl who stumbles upon an old scarecrow at a yard sale. She learns the story behind this common Halloween decoration and the horror that followed it.

     c. Charles Bonnet Syndrome

          – A story about a young man who is diagnosed with a disease that causes him to see things that aren’t really there, or are they?

     2.  Wattpad

          – Wattpad.com is home to many fanfictions as well as original works of creepy pasta and fiction. There are some great original works. But this website is mostly for the people who are experienced with creepy pasta and want either fanfictions or reimagining’s of classics.

     a.  Jane the Killer

          – Another creepy pasta that I read that I believe has several different versions. A young girl who was attacked by Jeff the Killer shares her side of the story and what happens after her incident with Jeff.
