As most streaming platforms and movie theatres are doing in light of the pandemic, Disney+ is releasing movies and shows to their platform. Some were planned releases, and others are going to be special releases. They tried the early release with Frozen 2 and it seemed to be a big hit. The film was not supposed to be on Disney+ until June, but it was released early to their streaming platform. It was available for streaming starting on March 15th. Below is a list of the other movies and shows I am most excited about.

Frankenweenie (April 1)

A classic Tim Burton film about a boy who does an experiment on his recently deceased dog. Everyone’s heard of Frankenstein, now get ready for Frankenweenie. Frankenweenie will be available on Disney+ on April 1st.

Onward (April 3)

I’m pretty sure most of us by now know that Disney Pixar’s Onward is available for digital purchase on pretty much every platform. Disney is waiting until April 3rd to release. Onward on Disney+. Featuring Tom Holland and Chris Pratt, Onward is about two brothers who live in a mystical universe who are trying to bring back their father. It seems like it is going to be a very heartwarming, family centric comedy.

Sonny With A Chance (April 3)

Starring Demi Lovato and Sterling Knight, Sonny With A Chance was one of my favorite Disney Channel shows. It only aired for two seasons but the idea was genius. The concept of the show is a show within a show. In a way it reminds me of Sesame Street because there is the main show with the main characters and then little shorts that focus on the secondary characters. Sonny With A Chance is set to be released on Disney+ on April 3rd.

America’s Funniest Home Videos (April 24)

America’s Funniest Home Videos is, in my opinion, one of the most entertaining shows for the entire family. Whenever rereuns of this are on I always watch this. It is one of those feel-good shows. Some of the videos are low-quality but to me, it just screams late 90s and early 2000s. This classic show will be available to stream later on this month.
