It’s finally that time of year. Halloween! A time to gorge on candy and celebrate spooky traditions. One of my favorite parts of Halloween has always been dressing up. Going door to door in my costume while scouring for delicious treats was the best part of the season.
Now that I’m older, Halloween is still just as fun! Dressing up and going out with friends or staying in and watching a scary movie is one of the highlights of Fall. Let’s see what everyone at Her Campus CNU is dressing as!
Millie: Cruella DeVille. I bought a massive fur coat for a Toxic Masculinity Ken costume and it was too expensive to only wear once.
Ari: Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service, Astrology Witch, and Vampire. Kiki’s Delivery Service was a film that changed my life, I have a vintage witch costume I’ve never used, and my boyfriend wants me to be a vampire and I do love vampires
Natalea: Jerry (Tom & Jerry). It’s a simple, fun costume for me and my boyfriend!
Hannah L: A black cat. It was cheap and I got it off DoorDash super last minute lol!
Claire: Friday, I am going as a pirate and then on Saturday, I am doing a good witch/bad witch duo costume with my suitemate. I just wanted to use things I already had in my closet to create my Halloween costumes. I am very big on sustainability and personally don’t like to buy a costume I am only going to wear once or twice.
Madison: I’m being Padme from Star Wars and my boyfriend is being Anakin! I promised my boyfriend, as a present, that I would watch all of the Star Wars movies with him on May 4th (May the Fourth be with you Day). When I watched them, I instantly fell in love with the series and especially the prequels. Ever since then, I knew I wanted to dress up as Padme and Anakin for Halloween, and I’m so excited to finally do it! We’re just pretending like Revenge of the Sith didn’t happen and Padme and Anakin lived happily ever after!
Grace: Rapunzel. I loveee purple :)
Joey: Bobby from KPop Demon Hunters. Super into KPop Demon Hunters right now! He’s not super hard to cosplay and I lowkey have the look and demeanor for him too.
Becca: Eric Cartman. I once had to sit in a tattoo shop and watch South Park for 8 hours. South Park is forever engrained in my brain.
Ivy: Sidney Prescott (Scream 1). It was honestly a very last minute decision! But I chose it because my roommate and I were watching the movie and I was like “I have all of that stuff in my closet!”
Emma V: Superman (Clark Kent). I needed something easy and quick that I could be! I already had the white collared shirt and the glasses to be Clark Kent.
Zoe: On Friday, I’m going to be Remy from Ratatouille and my boyfriend is going to be Linguini. For Saturday, I am going as Catwoman and my boyfriend is Batman. My boyfriend and I came up with the Ratatouille one before it got popular so it felt really special. It was also such a funny idea. As for the cat and the bat, he’s a big Batman fan and I’ve always loved the dynamic between Catwoman and Batman. So it felt perfect!!
Her Campus @CNU got very creative and cute with their costumes this year! I know everyone will look so great. I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween this year. Happy Halloween!!
