If you are like me, then you cannot get anything done in your room because your room has your bed, and bed equals sleep, and sleep equals no studying, which equals me not being productive at all.
So, for the past three years I have dragged my butt to the Trible Library for hours and hours to read for class, write all of my papers, and to study for tests and quizzes.
So this year, I arrive on campus ready to take on senior year with the idea that I am going to be more productive than ever and get the best grades yet.
And then it all comes crashing down when I hear that they are closing the Collections section of my beloved Trible Library, the place where I have probably spent more time than my actual Res. Halls over the past three years, the place that literally has my blood, sweat, and tears somewhere deep within the carpets and the big wooden chairs with the leather cushions, the place I have called my home. What follows are the deep and passionate emotions that I felt when I heard this dreadful news that CNU has betrayed me and handed me and my fellow Captains the worst eviction notice that we could possibly receive.
1. Pure. Rage.
2. Fear for my grades
3. Actual sadness and a hint of nostalgia for those long nights in the lib
4. Annoyance that I won’t even get to use the new lib because it won’t be done until Fall 2018
5. Hope that it won’t be that bad
Right now, it doesn’t seem to be too terrible. There are always still the quiet rooms which most people are afraid of and there is some space in the Freeman plus some other secret spots around campus that aren’t too bad. However, I fear for what is to come around midterms and finals when people are fighting for study space. Good luck out there, everyone. I hope this hasn’t bummed you out as much as it has me.
