As many of you SAB fans know, our beloved TV show is about to come to an end this Tuesday. After 5 years of #Bemmet drama and learning new words/phrases to sign, the show has finally come to an end. But let’s never forget all the barriers that have been broken because of what this show has taught us!

Racism

Campus Rape

And (of course) Being Deaf

Although we’re sad to see all the characters we’ve come to know and love stop filming, we’ll never forget what this show taught us. Lizzy Weiss (creator of the show) normalized the interaction of deaf and hearing people.

Personally, this show has inspired me to want to learn how to sign. Deaf people go out of their out of their way to understand us, so why don’t we do the same for them?

So thank you, SAB.
