Have you ever wanted to explore the wonderful world of double denim but just don’t know how to go about it? When done correctly, double denim outfits can look absolutely amazing on anyone! I just recently tried wearing an old denim jacket with some new light-wash jeans I bought, and I loved it! Ever since then, I’ve been exploring other ways to pair denim and thought I’d share some of my finds with you all. Here are a few tips on how to wear double denim outfits and look good while doing it!
Mix Denim Washes
This is probably the number one rule when wearing double denim. Though monochromatic styling isn’t completely out of the question, it’s definitely something that requires a lot of fashion prowess. Mixing denim washes is the easiest way to go about wearing double denim, as the different shades will take some of that strain off of the eye and will make your outfit all the more fashionable!
Play With Colors
If you’re wearing denim bottoms with a denim jacket, it’s a great idea to pair that with a colorful shirt underneath that will really make your outfit pop. If you don’t want to do that, you can also just add a colorful accessory to compliment your look instead. This rule doesn’t just apply to accessories, though. Try expanding your denim horizons by choosing a few colored denim pieces. You could try matching a pair of colored denim skinny jeans with an indigo or white denim jacket.
Pay Attention to Fit
Regardless of if you’re a beginner or a double denim fashionista, one of the most important things to consider when wearing denim is the way the items fit to your body, as it can really make or break your outfit. You could try wearing slouchy boyfriend jeans with a more fitting denim jacket, or some skinny jeans with an oversized denim jacket. You could even wear a denim skirt in lieu of jeans to switch things up!
