11 Ways to Make it Through the Rest of the Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CNU chapter.

Welcome back from Fall Break, Captains! We’re now officially halfway done with our semester, and we at HC CNU know how hard it can be to get through it. In fact, we have a wonderful list of items that can help get you through to Thanksgiving Break!

1.  Andrews McMeel has published two new awesome books:

  • You’ve probably seen Sarah’s Scribbles all over tumblr, Facebook, and Pinterest. Now there’s a book! Adulting is a Myth features Sarah’s hilarious comics about everything from body image to the frequency of bra washing.
  • At CNU, your freshman year is probably spent with someone you don’t know – and that’s okay! In fact, Becky Simps illustrated and wrote The Roommate Book for college students just like your everyday Captain Collegiette – with everything from games to funny anecdotes, The Roommate Book has it all.

2. Now that it’s getting colder out, you’re going to want something that’s not only going to keep your apple cider from Einstein’s hot but not spilling out onto your hands. Camelbak’s Forge Divide mug features one-handed sipping and a leak proof cap! It comes in a variety of colors, and the drinking valve pops open for easy cleaning – a must when things start to get hectic.

3. Tired of rushing to the bathroom between classes to change a tampon or pad? Well, DivaCup has you covered. Their Model 1 is perfect for the college girl – it provides 12 hours of protection, saving you on tons of money spent on tampons that are upcharged just for being in pretty wrapping paper.

4. Tailgating is the one time CNU students – that are of legal drinking age – can enjoy beer before going to a football game. But, with fluctuating temps, you’ll need something to keep your bottle or can from slipping from your hands. Flying Colors Apparel – a fashion company that provides fashionable and fun clothes for women of all ages – has designed a koozie that not only looks great but will keep you from dropping your tasty beverage.

5. Looking for a great Big/Little evening event? Why not try a Face Mask and Pedi night? Freeman Beauty has come out with four new face masks: Avocado/Oatmeal Clay, Cucumber Peel-Off, Charcoal and Black Sugar Polishing, and Apple Cider Vinegar Foaming Clay. These four masks – which are made from newest and purest ingredients – are available at Ulta or Ulta.com, and will have your skin feeling so radiant that you’ll be spamming Insta with some awesome selfies!

6. Juicy Couture was cool even before Mean Girls. Their new fragrance, I ♥ JUICY COUTURE, features hints of sparkling mandarin and jasmine. If you’re passionate about life, then this fragrance is for you!

7.Have you been wondering how to make your favorite t-shirt dress work for Fall? Well, look no further than L’eggs! Their Sheer Energy Sheer Panty with Medium Support provides opaque coverage and helps to tone legs so that you feel like you’re getting a massage all day long! Bonus: no panty lines!

8. Having the right push-up bra is a must this Fall. Maidenform’s Love the Lift Push Up & In Lace Demi Bra lifts up and pushes in for the sexiest silhouette you’ve ever seen!  It includes fully adjustable straps and smoothing side wings for comfortable support.

9. Did you know that 53% of young women say they don’t know how to deal with a yeast infection? Look no further, Monistat’s got you covered! MONISTAT® launched It’s Time for TMI because when it comes to your body and your health, you can never have too much information. As the #1 Doctor Recommended OTC yeast infection treatment, Monistat provides prescription strength without the prescription and starts curing on contact!

10. Looking for some awesome new makeup to complete your Homecoming look? Rimmel London’s 24HR Supercurler Mascara, Colour Precise Eyeliner, and The Only 1 Lipstick will provide you with eclectic beauty looks. From the bold color of the eyeliner to the variety of shades of the lipstick, you’ll be totally killin’ it this Fall.

11. Studying abroad in Glasgow this spring or Munich this summer? Wearsafe Labs has created an awesome way for your friends and family to keep track of you and help find a way to get you safe in the event of an emergency. The Wearsafe Tag includes a continuous audio stream, as well as a private group chat that your loved ones can use to get you the help you need.
