Thrilling and Scary Movies to Prepare for Halloween

October is meant to be a month of fun and treats. Kids trick or treating and dressing up as their favorite characters. Halloween is also the time people like to watch thrilling and terrifying movies. Join in the fun and scare the pants of your friends and yourself. Here are some recent and upcoming movies that you may want to add to your scary list this Halloween.

  1. A Quiet Place

Released in April of 2018, this movie follows a small family in a post invasion world where any sound you make could be your last. Can they continue to live a life of silence or is it time to make a change?

  1. Down A Dark Hall

First released on August 1st 2018 in Italy, this movie follows five young girls in the Blackwood home for gifted children. But this facility is not all it’s cracked up to be. Some dark secrets are lurking in the shadows of the faculty and the building itself.

  1. The Little Stranger

Released in August of 2018, this thriller is set in 1948. Dr.Faraday has recently begun taking care of a new patient from the Ayres family. His journey will lead him to the family’s decades-old home and there his life will become intertwined with the occupants in ways he never thought it would be.

  1. The Nun

Currently in theaters, The Nun is the third installment in the Conjuring Saga, following the cases of renowned parapsychologists Ed and Lorraine Warren. This movie explored the origins of the terrifying demon that has been following the Warren family for many years. Where did this demon first gain its roots and why does it take on the appearance of a nun?

  1. Venom

Another installment to the Marvel franchise, Venom follows journalist Eddie Brook and the parasite that has become attached to him. Watch and amaze this take on the origins of the Marvel anti-hero Venom soon to be released on Oct 5, 2018.

  1. Halloween

Released on October 19, 2018, this remake of the cult classic journey of Michael Myers spins a new tale of suspense, horror, and mystery for one of our most popular horror characters. How would his story have gone if he hadn’t escaped the mental hospital all those years ago?

  1. The New Mutants

Another addition to the Marvel franchise, coming in 2019, this story takes a darker turn than most of the Marvel movies so far as we follow a group of kids in a facility for mutants. What happens when the people who are supposed to help them end up being the ones they should be running from?
