As a single woman Valentines Day seems to be one of the worst days of the year. It seems that everywhere you look there are flowers, engagements, and other romantic things. Who says that you have to be miserable on February 14th? There are so many things you could do that day instead of the normal eat a pint of ice cream and watch movies.
One thing you could do is take advantage of the deals that are around for that day. There are so many restaurants that have specials to get couples into their facility to eat. Why not have a girls night out? You could use that dinner for two for you and your closest best friend who is single like you are. Yes, you may see other couples, but you are with your best friend having a good time as well. (Brioso’s even has a pretty awesome deal- I’d at least look into it!)
Another thing you could do is to do something fun and out of the ordinary. An idea could be going to a trampoline park. Here you get a good work out, have fun, and keep your mind off being single. (Sky Zone in Greenville anyone?)
Also, February 14th is the first day of college baseball season. This could be an opportunity to get into sports, or even enjoy them if you love them already. (Plus you’re single and some of those guys on the field are nice to look at…)
Last, on Valentines Day it could be a day to celebrate you. Take time to pamper yourself by getting a manicure, pedicure,a massage, or your hair done. This could give you a refreshing outlook on things. There are so many things you could do on this day from going to a baseball game, volunteering, and even a Pinterest night. Valentines Day isn’t the end of the world. Embrace your freedom and the fact that you’re single, you are the only one who could make yourself happy in the end, not a man, or woman. If you make yourself happy in time you will find someone else to be happy with.
