Top 15 Places to Eat in Clemson

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clemson chapter.

Clemson being a college town has numerous restaurants, but which ones are the best? Make it a point to visit these top fifteen restaurants and you will not be disappointed.

  • Osaka: A hibachi and sushi favorite for many Clemson students, great taste with a great price.
  • The Smokin’ Pig: Technically in Pendleton but definitely worth the 10-15 minute drive for this famous BBQ food. Only open Thursday through Saturday so plan accordingly!
  • Chipotle/Moe’s: The competition between these two Mexican franchises is talked about campus-wide, but both will satisfy your burrito, quesadilla, or nacho craving!
  • Brioso: This has everything from mozzarella sticks to pasta to pizza to gelato. Definitely should be on your radar if you’re looking for some Italian cuisine.
  • TD’s: Not only a great bar for those looking for a night on the town, but also has great bar food, a must try is their TD’s All In wings (especially on Saturday- 50 cents per wing).
  • Wingin’ It: It’s in the name- wings, wings, and more wings! Make sure to check out when they have special deals on burgers and pitchers too!
  • Peppino’s: Definitely a top choice for those who love pizza. I mean who doesn’t! The pizza is more New York style compared to a Domino’s or Papa John’s type of pie.
  • Groucho’s Deli: This Clemson favorite has any sandwich you can think of not to mention some of the best sweet tea around!
  • IHop: Waffles, pancakes, omelettes, and more! Breakfast is served all day as well as lunch and dinner meals too.
  • Cookout: Whether you’re looking for a meal after going out on the weekend or just looking for a lot of food for a cheap price, this is your destination! The milkshakes, chicken fingers, burgers, and hush puppies are some items on this reasonably priced menu.
  • Beef O’Brady’s: Next to Bojangles, this franchise has typical bar food at a high quality.
  • 356 Sushi: Obviously this restaurant has sushi, but for those of you, like me, who don’t care for that food, you can order food from wingin’ it and have it brought over. No more excuses to say no if sushi isn’t your thing. On Tuesday’s they have all you can eat and $3.56 rolls on Thursday!
  • BGR: This downtown restaurant offers classic burgers, veggie burgers, and even delicious turkey burgers!
  • Todaro’s: Another pizza favorite, Todaro’s offers one dollar slices every Wednesday for those of you who are trying to save some cash while still wanting good college food. This is a prime choice for those late night food cravings after downtown shenanigans.
  • Pita Pit: The choice is really yours when there are this many choices to pick from. They have chicken, steak, turkey, beef, and ham. Not to mention smoothies and salads.

A couple other recommendations we have for your list:

Mac’s Drive In: Might be the best burgers in town, located in Pendleton

Thai Spice: (if you’re a fan of curry I’d recommend this place)

Thai-ger Café: Their puff pastries and noodle dishes are on point

Red Bowl: The Bento Box is a great deal $11 for sushi, main dish, rice, & egg roll

Whether you’re looking for pizza, pasta, or pitas this list gives you all the favorites that Clemson students love!
