Other Organizations You’re Involved In On Campus: I am currently involved in Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, and was in Clemson University Singers and TakeNote for the last three years (although I’ve had to retire those due to teaching!).
What is your favorite part about Her Campus Clemson?
I love being able to express myself without my writing being graded or scrutinized. It’s a wonderful opportunity to be able to write exactly what you want.
What is your favorite article you’ve written?
My first semester with HCC, I wrote an article about the Clemson vs. Notre Dame game described entirely with Parks and Recreation gifs. It was fun, lighthearted, and everyone really enjoyed it.
Where is your favorite place to write or study on campus?
I love the amphitheater. It’s beautiful and very peaceful. It’s a great place to do work or take a nap!
What is your favorite word in the English language?
Macabre – (adj.) gruesome and horrifying; ghastly
I couldn’t tell you why, but I’m sure it stems from my fascination and love of Halloween. Also, fun fact, I still have no idea how to pronounce it!
What is the best advice you’ve given or have been given?
I think the best advice I’ve ever been given is just to be who you are. Once you stop worrying what other people think, your life gets a whole lot easier. I know I’ve got quirks and I’m not perfect, but once I became happy with who I am, I became a whole lot happier all around.
What are you most looking forward to this year with Her Campus?
As Senior Editor, I get the chance to look at all of the articles before they are published. I am so excited to be able to see everyone’s writing grow and change throughout the semester!
