1. Major/Year:

I am a sophomore English major with an emphasis in Writing & Publications

and a Travel & Tourism minor. I am currently trying to decide if I want to

double major/double minor in History as well. Who else knew that you could

have a double minor?!

2. Hometown:

I am from Greenville, SC

3. Why you chose Clemson University

I have always said that I would go to Clemson University. I grew up around

the campus and went to football games each year. There wasn’t ever really

any question as to where I would go when I graduated from high school. I

only sent out one college application and that was to Clemson University.

4. Favorite thing about writing for Her Campus Clemson

While I haven’t actually published a piece for Her Campus Clemson yet, I am

super excited to work with this amazing group of writers. I have always

wanted to write for Her Campus so to actually be fulfilling that dream now is

super exciting!

5. What else are you involved in on campus?

This is my first semester on campus, so as of right now I am only involved

with Her Campus Clemson

6. Favorite Clemson restaurant:

My favorite Clemson restaurant would have to be Calhoun Corners. It is just a

few minutes off campus with great food and service. It is a great place to eat

for special occasions because it is a bit fancier than the restaurants on

College Avenue.

7. What do you do in your free time?

Ha! What free time?! My professors keep me busy! But in all seriousness, my

free time consists of Downton Abbey and hot tea or blogging.

8. What do you want to do in your career?

I would like to use my degree to become an editor for a magazine or book

publishing company. My dream job would be to work as an editor for

Southern Weddings magazine or Southern Living magazine.

9. Favorite Clemson tradition:

My favorite Clemson traditions are the First Friday Parade and Solid Orange

Friday. You can’t call yourself a Clemson student if you don’t participate in

these at least once!

10. Ideal/best first date you have been on:

My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost 5 years, so I don’t really have

an ideal first date. I would say that our first date was the best. We went to a

concert on a Friday night and the next night we went to a play in which my

sister was an actress. My ideal date at Clemson would probably be dinner at

Tiger Town Tavern or Todaro Pizza and a movie at McKissick Theater in the

Hendrix Student Center.

11. Go to drink downtown:

I haven’t hit 21 yet. However, check back in a few years and I will let you

know!

12. Current favorite fashion trend?

My current favorite fashion trend is high-waisted jeans and shorts. On my

petite frame, I feel like they give the illusion of longer legs.

13. If you have studied abroad where did you go and what was your favorite

thing about it?

I haven’t studied abroad, but if I get the opportunity I would love to go to

Italy or France.

14. What fun things did you do this summer?

This summer aside from being the nanny of two kids, I went to the beach

with my boyfriend’s family. We had so much fun! One day, we got a tandem

jet ski for an hour and rode a mile out from the coast. Scary, but worth it!

15. Any other interesting stuff you want mentioned!

I have a beauty+lifestyle blog called The Calico Cat. I review products,

scheme up new makeup tutorials and showcase the occasional outfit of the

day. I also cover other topics too, such as college life, book reviews and

recipes. I would love it if you all stopped by to check it out!
