At this point in the year, the weather seems to have balanced out and it is getting colder and colder. What better way than to celebrate this change than with a quick and easy Hot Chocolate recipe!

What you’ll need:

1.) ¼ cup of Unsweetened Hershey’s Cacao Powder

2.) 1 cup of Sugar

3.) ¾ teaspoon of Vanilla Extract

4.) 4 Cups of Milk

5.) 1/3 of Water

6.) Marshmallows or Whipped Cream (Optional)

Instructions:

  1. Stir together sugar and cacao powder in a medium pot with the water. Make sure to combine this on a medium temperature and stir until the mixture comes to a boil.

  2. Reduce the temperature to low and add a small amount of milk in order for it to adapt to the temperature and after a minute or so, add the rest of the milk and stir.

  3. After stirring the mixture for about 2 minutes, remove the pot from the heat and add the vanilla extract and stir.

After serving the hot chocolate into coffee cups, you can now add marshmallows or whipped cream if you prefer and enjoy the most rich, chocolatey hot chocolate you have ever had. This recipe can also be used for single cup servings by using 2 teaspoons of cacao powder with 1 teaspoon of sugar and 1 cup of milk.

Enjoy!
