Going Home for Spring Break

Going Home for Spring Break

Every year there is a rush of excitement around Spring Break. Everyone is going to

the beach, or someplace warm and tropical, but maybe you’re just planning to go

home. Never fear! You aren’t the only one! Sometimes, home can be even better than

going somewhere exotic. If you are going home, here are some tips to help you make

the most of your break:

1. Enjoy the time with your family.

I know, you might feel like it’s super lame; you’re stuck at home all week. But

seriously, if you haven’t seen your family in awhile they are probably super

pumped that you are home for a bit! Enjoy the time with them while you can

before you’re back in Tigertown.

2. Eat as many home cooked meals as possible.

I don’t think its possible to say this enough…GOD BLESS REAL FOOD.

Seriously, we have another month or so of dining hall food, or cereal for

dinner, or half cooked Ramen, or whatever you are eating because you’re just

too tired to make real food. Whether it’s a family recipe, or your favorite

meal, enjoy it while you can. Pack up a box of it and take it back to Clemson

with you!

3. RELAX

While you most likely have homework assignments and other things to do,

this is the most likely the first time since Winter Break that you’ve been able

to really breathe. Catch up on your Netflix, go to the movies, or just sit and

watch TV for awhile. You’ve been working hard and you deserve a break!

4. Be Smart

While relaxing is essential, if there is a big project you have been putting off,

or little things piling up that you need to accomplish, now is the perfect time

to do it! Going back to school ahead of the game can be a game changer in

your stress levels, and you will be patting yourself on the back later.

REALITY CHECK: (Do not read if you are not prepared to face reality,

especially if you are a senior) When we get back from Spring Break, there is

only about a month until finals begin. But never fear Tigers, we will power

through! No matter where you go for Spring Break, enjoy every second,

because your next break will mark a completed year at Clemson!
