Disney Songs For Your Quarantine Playlist

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clemson chapter.

Before being stuck inside all the time, I didn’t notice just how often Disney characters seem to be trapped before they leave on their big adventures. If you’re looking for some Disney classics for your quarantine playlist, you might find these relatable right now!

“When Will My Life Begin” from Tangled

Obviously, Rapunzel tops the list of relatable Disney characters right now — she was trapped in a tower for her entire childhood. Okay, maybe we haven’t been inside quite that long, but it feels like it. Tangled is a great movie for a quarantine rewatch, and maybe Rapunzel can give us some ideas for what to do while bored. Candlemaking, anyone?

“For the First Time in Forever” from Frozen

If anyone can challenge Rapunzel as the CEO of staying inside, it’s Anna from Frozen, who finally gets to leave the castle after the gates were shut for years to hide Elsa’s powers. Honestly, Anna daydreaming about meeting a handsome prince at her sister’s coronation is extremely relatable. I just can’t wait for the day that the windows and doors are open again!

“How Far I’ll Go” from Moana

Disney really enjoys keeping heroines trapped before their grand adventures, apparently. Moana can’t wait to get off of her island and sail across the ocean, and while all of us might not want to fight lava monsters and giant crabs, traveling does sound really nice right about now! Unlike Moana, however, we have to do our duty and stay home to help keep others well.

“Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid

Ariel sings, “I want to be where the people are,” and if that isn’t a quarantine state of mind, I don’t know what is. I know what it feels like to be left out of society now more than ever, even though it isn’t because I’m a mermaid.

“Belle” from Beauty and the Beast

Belle might be allowed to wander around her town, but her days are still much the same. “Every morning just the same, since the morning that we came” into our houses! I’ve also definitely been sticking my head in a book to escape like Belle.

“The Royal Doulton Music Hall” from Mary Poppins Returns

Honestly, I’m ready to go on a fun adventure in a painted bowl right about now. If Mary Poppins can entertain the Banks children in their room, surely we can manage to find the other worlds sitting upon our shelves (or on streaming services because Netflix is a life-saver)!

“Some Things Never Change” from Frozen 2

Right now, it feels like everything is changing in our world and we just want things to return to normal. While that’s definitely the case, it’s a great time to be thankful for what hasn’t changed. Even though we can’t see our friends and family all the time, they’re still there for us, only a Facetime away!
