When most people think of a drink that will provide them with benefits, most people go straight for coffee because of the energy it can supply. However, the real drink consumers should be turning to is tea. Our ancestors loved tea, they even had parties named after it! So ditch the beans and drink up on the leaves Many consumers do not realize that tea can not only make you feel refreshed on a hot summer day or cozy on a cool winters night, but it can become an anytime drink that is loaded with healthy benefits.

While there are a variety of flavors of tea there are three main types that flavors stem from. Those three are the classic black tea, the refreshing green tea, and the soothing oolong tea. All tea leaves stem from the same plant, Camellia Sinensis. The difference in how the leaves are processed is what makes each leaf have its own flavor, scent, and benefit.

As for the benefits, let’s break it down:

  • Oolong: known to help women burn more fat during the day than those who only drink water. Perfect drink on a day where you have to skip a workout to study for an exam!
  • Green: These leaves are meant for prevention. They have high amounts of antioxidants and have potential to reduce cancer risk and heart disease. Women struggle the most with heart disease, so drink green tea and keep that heart healthy!
  • Black: Highest amount of caffeine found in these tea leaves, while giving results of lowering cholesterol. Other studies show that black tea can cut an individuals risk of stroke down by 21%! Drink three cups a day: you will be awake and have a great chance to live longer!
  • Chamomile: The go-to tea for sickness. This is the tea many of us received from parents when we were sick. This tea proves to be one of the most beneficial for people, proving to inhibit cancer cell growth and prevent side effects from diabetes.
  • Lemon Ginger Tea: This is the bacterial weapon. With the lemon and ginger duo is the ultimate weapon against bacteria infections.

So there are the benefits, here are some daily moods that tea can help with:

  • Dehydrated? Try an iced Oolong Tea
  • Stressed out? Green Tea is your quick fix.
  • Need a refresher? White Tea is the way to go.
  • Still Sleepy at 3pm? Get some Black Tea, you will wake right up!
  • Sick in Bed? Try some fruity flavored tea, it tastes better than cough medicine!

So now that you have the 411 on tea, you can use it for any occasion. I am not saying ditch the sweat tea though, that stuff is amazing. However,  there are many other teas out there that can provide so many benefits to consumers rather than just
