The Best Things About Halloween
Â
Since Fall has already arrived (although the weather may not agree), and I amÂ
Â
already planning my Halloween party, I thought I would share with you some ofÂ
Â
what I believe the best things about Halloween are.Â
Â
1. Dressing Up
Â
There is nothing more fun than getting to pretend to be something you’reÂ
Â
not, and have an excuse to do it without people making fun of you (which isÂ
Â
why I can’t dress like Cinderella every day). You can be anything from theÂ
Â
traditional witch to a sexy reindeer (yes, that exists), and go crazy for justÂ
Â
one night.
Â
Â
See? I told you.
Â
2. Halloween Candy
Â
Â
My roommate and I always get extra excited when we can go to the groceryÂ
Â
store and pick up a bag of Halloween candy. Yes, you can buy candy any otherÂ
Â
day of the year, but not a huge bag full of Milky Ways and Twix and SnickersÂ
Â
all together in fun, bite-sized pieces. That you can stuff your face with. AndÂ
Â
not feel horrible about.
Â
Â
3. Hocus Pocus
Â
Â
All hail the reigning champion of Halloween movies. You can argue about thatÂ
Â
all you want, but you’ll never win. There are so many reasons this movie isÂ
Â
the best. Bette Midler’s version of “I Put A Spell On You?” Sarah JessicaÂ
Â
Parker’s entire character? All the hilarious sexual innuendos that you missedÂ
Â
as a child? Everything about this movie is beautiful.
Â
Â
4. Halloween Decorations
Â
Â
I wish I could decorate for Halloween every day of the year. I love driving byÂ
Â
houses and seeing graveyards and vampires and all sorts of spookyÂ
Â
creatures. Plus, who doesn’t love those awesome giant spider webs that areÂ
Â
literally indestructible and impossible to use?
Â
Â
Â
6. Haunted Houses
Â
Â
I worked at a month-long haunted house for two years, and it was the bestÂ
Â
time of the year. Scaring people is a lot of fun, especially when people comeÂ
Â
specifically for that reason. Whether you’re the one doing the scaring, orÂ
Â
you’re the one peeing your pants, haunted houses are a source of adrenalineÂ
Â
that can’t be replicated any other time of the year.
Â
Â
So there you have it. All the best parts of the best time of the year. Make sure you’reÂ
Â
getting your costume ready and don’t forget to stock up on all that Halloween candy!Â
Â
Happy Haunting!
