Over the summer, he expressed his approval of President Donald Trump on Twitter. He also caused outrage in May when he suggested that “slavery was a choice” for African Americans on TMZ. His latest in a stream of public controversies occurred on September 29th after his appearance on SNL where he went on an off-air rant wearing a Make America Great Again hat. His comments were met with boos from the audience. Reportedly, he said, “The blacks weren’t always Democrats…you know it’s like the plan they did, to take the fathers out the home and put them on welfare…does anybody know about that? That’s a Democratic plan.”
Numerous celebrities, including Chris Evans, have voiced their opinions about his tweets and recent actions.
There’s nothing more maddening than debating someone who doesn’t know history, doesn’t read books, and frames their myopia as virtue. The level of unapologetic conjecture I’ve encountered lately isn’t just frustrating, it’s retrogressive, unprecedented and absolutely terrifying. https://t.co/4jCFwB4T5U

Kanye is famous for his egomania and outspokenness as much as his music. It’s clear that his behavior in recent months has gotten more and more confusing. He recently tweeted that “the 13th amendment is slavery in disguise”. While he was likely was referring to the “exception clause” in the amendment that allowed slavery and involuntary servitude to continue on plantations and in prisons, it was a bizarre tweet.
the 13th Amendment is slavery in disguise meaning it never ended We are the solution that heals
