This week we sat down with captain of the women’s basketball team, Sami Dokus, to talk about her experience transferring, being a Clark Fifth Year and her dog, Tilly.
Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Sami Dokus and I’m currently a Fifth Year in the Biology program. I’m from Littleton, Massachusetts and graduated from Clark this May. However, before coming to Clark I attended Connecticut College so I’m still able to play basketball here.
What’s your favorite thing about Clark?
The friendly people and fat squirrels around campus!
What is like being a Fifth Year?
It’s definitely different; it’s a lot more freedom. I spend most of my time doing research and feeding the fish I observe for my thesis. It basically feels the same because all of my friends are seniors.
What is it like being a transfer?
Transferring was really difficult. I wasn’t happy at my previous college and made it hard for me to adjust. After I transferred though, everything felt right. I love Clark and think it’s the perfect place for me.
Quick This or That!
Cats or Dogs? Dogs, specifically my dog, Tilly!
Summer or Winter? Summer
Favorite Football Team? The Patriots!
Sweet or Sour? Sweet
Morning Person or Night Owl? Afternoon Turtle
Thanks, Sami!
