Senior Series: Sarah Parker

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clark chapter.

For our final senior series of the year, we interviewed Biology major Sarah Parker! Read on to find out more about Sarah and her great advice for underclassmen.

Name: Sarah Parker

Hometown: Burlington, Massachusetts

Major: Biology

Favorite Professor at Clark: I have to say my favorite is Robert Drewell. In my sophomore year when I wanted to change my focus in biology he made the transition into his lab easy and changed my life at Clark.

Favorite Class at Clark: Genetics and Disease. It was by far the most I’ve ever learned in a class and it was fascinating.

Favorite Spot to Study on Campus and Why: Café 234. It’s the only place I’ve ever studied.

Favorite Bistro Snack: Everyone who knows me, knows that I’m addicted to Smartfood popcorn. It’s not specific to the Bistro but the fact that they stock it made that freshman 15 hard to fight.

What has been your favorite thing about going to school at Clark?

Worcester has been the best thing about Clark for me. The fact that it’s not a busy city, but still has all the opportunities, restaurants, other colleges and hangouts as a true city made it the perfect place.

What will you miss most about Clark?

The lifestyle of college, which may not be Clark specific, is what I’ll miss the most. That ability to have all of your friends, classes, and places to be within your little world, and having the downtime to enjoy them is what I’ll miss most.

What clubs and activities were you involved with on campus?

I was most involved with Clark Musical Theatre and I owe a lot to all of the people involved with that club. They gave me a real community within Clark and they kept me sane whenever life was a little too insane. I can never express how much I appreciate the friendships I made through CMT.

What are your best words of wisdom for underclassmen?

The most cliché advice there ever was: enjoy every second, even the boring ones because you never know when it’s your last second doing that boring activity with those people in your life.

What are your plans post-graduation?

I’m already enrolled in Clark’s fifth year program and working part time at a contract research organization called Charles River Labs. So right now the plan is to continue that path.

Thanks, Sarah!
