HC: How do you think the Volleyball tournament went this past weekend?

MR: I think this weekend was a really good test for us. We played really solid teams and gave good performances. We played our game and the rest just fell into place. Not only that, but every game we win we get more confident and trust each other more and more which is a very important factor when playing a team sport, especially volleyball. This weekend was just an overall success and a reminder that we have what it takes to keep winning.

HC: How does it feel to be NEWMAC player of the week?

MR: It feels pretty great actually! It’s a good confidence booster for me since I always tend to doubt my skills and myself as a volleyball player. It’s a good reward for my hard work, but I also owe it to my teammates and what they do for me. I wouldn’t be able to be player of the week without their support and help in the game. It’s also a good reflection on how well we’re playing together at the moment.

HC: You have 100 Kills and 96 Digs so far in the season. Do you think you can keep it up?

MR: I hope so! (laughs) I know I’m having a good season thus far and I just think that if I keep doing what I’m doing, I’ll be able to keep it up and help my team out in the process.

HC: Your stats this year are already aiming to be higher than last year’s. Do you think you can beat last year’s record?

MR: Every year I want to be better than the last, improve what needs to be improved and have higher expectations than the year before. Since I’m a very competitive person, I’m going to try with all my power to be better than last year, not only for myself, but also for the team. If I keep working hard and stay focused on our goals as a team, I think I can surpass my performance last year and hopefully, we as a team can too.
