Game of Thrones Review- SPOILERS

Episode 2: “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”

Score: 7.5/10

Does it pass the Bechdel? Yup. Dany and Sansa talk about Jon, and Tyrion, but also the North. This kind of political confrontation is so much more interesting then the petty cattiness of last episode.

Sexy-lamp test? Absolutely.

TBH? Okay, so I cried when Jaime knighted Brienne. Also, she is absolutely going to die in the next episode, mark my words! (I will absolutely delete this sentence if I am proven wrong.) Also, Grey Worm is toast, that kiss was too bittersweet for him to survive.

I really think that the drinking by the fire scenes were some of the best comedy that GoT has had to offer, in fact this is probably up there with one of the funniest episodes, which I felt was lacking last season. I was in tears when Tormund was drinking.

Arya and Gendry was a little weird but I think mainly because it was a super normal thing for her to do and that’s weird for her. Their weapon foreplay was amusing thought.

Jon has the absolute worst timing. Has he literally learned nothing? Why would he tell Dany that he has the better claim to her life goal the night before a battle (it ended up being minutes before the battle but I’m being generous).

I was a little underwhelmed by the Bran and Jaime scene, but I think it was as good as it could have been.

I felt, in general, like this episode had a lot of the same energy as the quieter scenes of Blackwater and Blackwater is (probably) my favorite episode of GoT. I think the character moments were all really great and really showed how far everyone has come and how important they all are to eachother. It’s definitely going to make all of the deaths next week super painful. It did feel a little fan- servicy at points, particularly the poorly integrated Ghost cameo. It really felt like he was added after and Kit had no idea that he’d be there.

Finally, the crypt is definitely not going to be safe and people are going to die.
