College Wardrobe Essentials

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clark chapter.

Coming home for the holidays means having some time to re-evaluate what clothes you have with you at school. Here are Her Campus Clark’s must have wardrobe pieces to make any college closet complete.

1.       A good quality jean jacket Jean jackets are amazing because they go with pretty much anything. We love wearing them with dresses to help make a look more casual but have also thrown one on over black jeans and a tank top! Their versatility make them desirable to any student. Though you can find one for really cheap at stores like Forever 21, we really recommend investing a bit more money in your’s because it will last longer and save you money in the long run!

2.       Simple cotton dress Every girl needs a cotton dress in her closet—the main reason being that they transition so well from season to season! In the warmer months you can just wear it with a pair of sandals but when the weather gets cooler simply throw on a sweater, some tights and a pair of boots and you’re good to go!

3.       A go-to set of comfy clothes Okay, so this is technically more than just one thing BUT you’re crazy if you think you can survive college without some comfy clothes! What exactly you choose is based on personal preference however we always default to yoga pants, a cozy sweatshirt and some fuzzy socks. There are few things we love more than getting home at the end of a long day, making some tea and snuggling up to some Netflix in a comfy outfit.

4.       Scarves

We love scarves because they are an easy way to either dress up or down an outfit, it’s all about how you style it! Plus, you can find super cute ones for decently affordable prices. Our recommendation: check out the sale section of pretty much any clothing or accessory store and there’s no doubt you will find at least one you love!

She spends her time running around between classes, working at both the Campus Store and Annie's Clark Brunch and trying to figure out what to do with her life after she graduates this May. When Ciara is not juggling her busy schedule, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, binge-watching Netflix (specifically The Office) and reminiscing her semester abroad in Ireland. Her favorite color is green and her guilty pleasure TV shows are The Bachelor and Dance Moms. Ciara is thrilled to be a Campus Correspondent alongside one of her best friends, Kelly Rourke!
