Your first year of college is full of homework, good memories, self-discovery, new friendships and seemingly endless stress. Here are what 12 Clarkies from the Class of 2019 had to say about their first year of college:
“I think my first year has been really great and I met a lot of new people and I’m looking forward to see what the next 3 years are going to be like.” – Serina
“Don’t sweat the little things.” – Cyanne
“Try something new and step out of your comfort zone.” – Azal
“I’ve learned that I have a lot to learn.” – Danielle
“Pretty damn good.” – Andy
“I guess my biggest thing is taking that step of independence. Schoolwork wise, it’s not that much different than high school (it might even be less work), but the biggest thing is having the responsibility of being on your own without your parents, and for me I feel I’ve adjusted well to it and have come to love it.” – Stuart
“First year is a great time. All you have to do is wake up and work out your brain and your body, and enjoy the moments.” – Olivia
“College is like gaining weight profusely and crying every weekend.” – Raistlin
“It went by really fast. Holy shit.” – Lana
“I would say college is a rollercoaster (because it really is), but I hate rollercoasters and I love college.” – Gaby
“It was better than I expected. I had a lot of fun and I’m really glad I came here. Also ultimate frisbee is awesome.” – Colleen
“Your first year of college is like your favorite roller coaster. You enjoy the thrills and bumps along the way but you just wish it was a little longer.” – Lamarre
