12 Best Snacks To Eat While Studying

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clark chapter.

It is officially time to study for finals (or maybe just mindlessly eating while staring at a page?). It’s always tough though to figure out what to eat. Well you’re just in luck. Her Campus Clark has a list for you! Here are snacks you may enjoy during finals (from healthy to more “fun for you” food)

1. Fruit

While there are many who like to eat junk food for finals, some may sway toward a healthier option. Apples, oranges, and bananas are a fast and easy snack to take with you on the go. All three are good for you, packed with vitamins that will keep you energized throughout your studying.

2. Nuts

Nuts are a healthy choice like chips (see later). You can just eat them mindlessly while studying. There’s no real guilt to it either once you realize how many you had.

3. Hummus

This is both healthy and easy. Hummus is a great choice and you can use multiple things to dip into it: pretzels (see the next bullet), crackers, carrots, string beans, etc.

4. Pretzel

Pretzels are a great choice because you can eat them plain or dipped in something. I love the sourdough pretzels the most, but there are plenty of options to choose from. They’re easy and crunchy, and what else can you ask for?

5. Smoothie

It’s *can be* healthy and easy. Just put some things and a blender and tada, you got a smoothie. It’s a great choice for both on the go or just staying. And you don’t even have to put your hands in a bag and get it all over your notes.

6. Popcorn

Popcorn doesn’t have to be just a movie snack! It can be you’re study snack too. Popcorn is the perfect mix of salty and sweet. You can even mix in things like M&Ms or nuts to make it a surprise as to what you’ll get next.

7. Cheez-its

I’ve recently gotten more into Cheez-its. I like how they’re almost chip like (read the next point) but–at least I believe–a better choice.

8. Chips

Chips are the easy, mindless choice. You can simply grab into a bag and not realize how much you’ve taken while typing, reading, or writing. It’s the perfect choice for a quick bite while continuing to study.

9. Pizza

Yay, pizza! It always makes me happy. The cheesy goodness is a great way to break up your study sesh. And you can share a pizza too with everyone else you’re studying with. It’s a win-win!

10. Ramen

This is the go to for many college students. It’s cheap and pretty easy to make. There are many flavors and brands to choose from, so pick your choice! It’s also a meal, so it’s not like you’re only eating junk this week…right?

11. Chocolate

Who doesn’t love chocolate? This burst of sugar will motivate you to do work. One technique I’ve used in the past is using chocolate as a “reward.” If you read a section or completed a math problem, you get a piece of chocolate!

12. Ice Cream

I’m going to say it: Ice cream is the best dessert out there. Before you start going to the comment section, hear me out. There are so many flavors and so many options. You also can never be sad while eating ice cream. Ice cream can be the perfect pick-me-up (in a bowl, cone, or even milkshake) you need this week.

Happy studying, collegiates, and good luck on finals!
