10 Ways to Decorate Your Dorm for the Holidays!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clark chapter.

As the fall season comes to a close, the temperature drops below freezing, and winter break draws near, why not add some holiday spirit to brighten up your dorm room? Here are some of our ideas for decorating for the holidays!

1. Cover your front door with your favorite wrapping paper.

Don’t forget to add some ribbon too!

2. Make some paper snowflakes!

There are numerous articles online that will give you helpful tips (Martha Stewart’s is my favorite!) or just go for it. You can either hang them all over your walls and windows or attach them to a string to create your own winter wonderland.

3. Create a wreath using some fun materials!

We made this one out of tea bags!

4. String lights all around your dorm.

They will look great everywhere and create a warm winter atmosphere!

5. For those of you who celebrate Christmas, either DIY a tree with some lights or fun ribbon or find a tiny tree that will make your dorm feel just like home.

6. Bring the snow indoors by turning your fridge into a snowman!

Make some coal and carrot cut outs to tape on or even create some fun magnets.

7. Hang some fun ornaments from your window or ceiling.

You can even match them with the color scheme of your room!

8. Wrap up some empty boxes with your favorite wrapping paper to get you into the holiday spirit.

9. Since we can’t have candles in dorms, an alternative idea is to find your favorite winter scented air freshener to bring the great outdoors inside.

10. Make a ton of holiday cookies to give to your room and hall mates!
