Spring Trends you Should Probably Know About

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clarion chapter.

The short lived, yet beautiful weather we had over the weekend here in Clarion, Pennsylvania, lead me to start thinking about my spring wardrobe. With Fashion Week happening all over the world, I have been collecting inspiration straight from the runways. Here are a few of the trends I’ve picked up on recently. They are sets created on http://polyvore.com showcasing different garments from http://boohoo.com (with a few exceptions). Boohoo has a variety of the latest styles throughout every season, and on any given day you can find some sort of sale going on. This site has quickly become one of my favorites, not only because of the great selections, but because of my college student budget. I hope that as you continue reading you’ll find some pieces to pick up for the spring.

Stripes

Stripes are a simple way to add dimension to an outfit. Instead of just a solid colored t-shirt, try layering a striped button up over to give an instantly more interesting look. Experiment with stripes in your tops, skirts, dresses, and even a pair of striped trousers. The possibilities are endless, just put your creativity to the test!

Off-the-shoulder Tops

These off-the-shoulder tops are super flirty, light, and perfect for nice spring days. If you’re into vintage looks, these are the way to go. They’re easy to dress up or down with your favorite pair of jeans or staple accessories. Soon, you’ll find yourself quickly buying one in every color.

Slogan Tees

Slogan tees have pretty much always been popular, but many of us have outgrown the phase of childish phrases being plastered across our chests. After New York Fashion Week, we’ve been seeing more t-shirts being used to portray stances on social and political issues. Although you may not want to take it in that direction, creative callouts and distressed band t-shirts are back on the scene just in time for spring.

Trench Coats

As the weather continues to transition, it is important to have a light coat for milder days. Trench coats and duster coats have gained popularity this winter but have quickly proven to be useful in spring fashion as well. Whether you’re into neutrals for everyday wear or bright pops of color for special occasions, your perfect coat is out there!

Florals

Florals have been a spring staple for years now but it seems that every year there is a unique spin on a timeless trend. Floral embroidering is being added to everything from jeans, to bags, and even shoes. While this newer take on florals is gaining momentum don’t be afraid to stick to classic floral prints seen on everyday gaments.

Sportswear

For casual outings, sportswear is a favorite of mine. Often refered to as “street style” we see celebrities like Kendall Jenner, Zendaya Coleman, and Karruche Tran sporting comfy, yet chic ensembles as they are out and about. Bomber jackets, graphic hoodies, and t-shirts are frequently worn in a unique way with a few accessories for an overall sporty look.
