Reflecting On My First Year In Her Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clarion chapter.

It has almost been a year since my first article was published and it has been a complete year since my college’s branch (Clarion University) has launched. This past year with Her Campus has created many memories and I have grown a lot as a person. With that being said, I want to look back on some of my favorite articles that have been published this past year.

My first article to ever be published was a profile piece on Clarion alum, Kurt Angle, who went on to become an Olympic athlete and professional wrestler. It was not a groundbreaking article, but it definitely has a special spot in my heart because it was my first. You can check out that article here: http://www.hercampus.com/school/clarion/wrestling-machine

Three months after my first article was published I wrote a very personal article about a friend that I had drifted away from. The process of writing out all my feelings proved to be beneficial and I knew it was something that almost everyone can relate too. It was definitely my favorite article that I had written during the first semester of Clarion’s launch. My favorite article that I wrote was about the NFL scandal of some players taking a knee during the national anthem. It has been one of few opinion pieces that I have published and although I receive a good bit of criticism, I still find it to be the best article I have written in the past year. It also does not hurt that it has been my most viewed article of all time. To check that article out click here: http://www.hercampus.com/school/clarion/my-thoughts-taking-knee

Her Campus has given me a voice to speak about anything that I want to and has lead me to plenty of new friendships and memories. I look forward to continuing my role as a writer for the Clarion chapter and providing content that I myself would enjoy reading. To another year!
