All Pirates of the Caribbean fans, both young and old, at BC Children’s Hospital were in for a treat when a special guest made an appearance. Johnny Depp made a visit to the hospital, dressed as his famous character, Captain Jack Sparrow. He was in the area shooting for an upcoming comedy drama when he made time to spend one on one time with patients at the hospital in Vancouver. He met with every single patient and didn’t break character once. The children were more than delighted to have a face to face encounter with one of the world’s most famous pirates.

Some of the children volunteered to give Mr. Depp the grand tour of the hospital. Depp made his rounds, meeting kids and their families, posing for photos, signing autographs, and engaging in some epic sword fighting with the children. Johnny Depp is reported to have made visits to another hospital in London as well, showing that he truly enjoys spending time with patients and bringing them joy. Aside from many of the disheartening stories we’ve heard in recent weeks, it is very refreshing to hear that good is still being done. The BC Children’s Hospital is very grateful that Captain Jack Sparrow made a visit. It was a very treasurable moment for everyone involved.
