Distanced, Focused, Impatient: Meet Marta Knaś

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at City London chapter.

Even if you are stressed, under exams, wearing sweatpants and have absolutely no makeup on your face, there will be someone going around campus dressed with flawless style. Talking about City University, this person is surely Marta … If you can spot her!

Name: Marta Knaś

Major & Year of Study: BA Journalism, 2nd year

Country of origin: Poland

Relationship Status: Totally free

Describe yourself in 3 words: Distanced, focused, impatient

One personal goal & one uni goal: My personal goal is to always trust myself, no matter how cheesy that sounds. My uni goal is very simple: to pass everything for at least 40 percent and to do a MA in some other place in Europe.

A person who inspires you and why: I am very much inspired by my mother. Even though she is coming through a hard time, she keeps showing me how to live my life in full every day.

Most embarrassing moment on campus: Well, I think I’ve never had one. It’s not that I don’t do embarrassing things, but I guess I am not on campus that often!

How would you define the word “style” (in terms of fashion)? Style is something natural, androgynous, effortless and of good quality.

Best place to shop in London: For clothes, best place to shop in London is & Other Stories store in Regent Street – best high-street brand in the entire universe. For everything else, Portobello Market during weekdays, when it’s serene and the streets are empty.

What do you do on a cold, rainy evening? At first, I get excited because I don’t have to go out, and then I cuddle up on the sofa with a book to try to get inspired.
